About

Hey, teachers! I am Jessica Tobin from Elementary Nest. In 2009, I began my journey as an elementary teacher. I first started as a kindergarten teacher, but hopped around to 1st and 2nd grade. While teaching Kindergarten, I also got a Masters Degree in Gifted and Talented education.

When I’m not creating standards-based resources, blogging about ELA, or organizing materials for teachers, you can find me living a very simple life! I live in Kentucky with my lovely family. Two of these family members are beautiful adopted pitbull pups. You can find my nose in a book or spending time with friends and family.

Throughout my teaching years, I started my blogging and TPT journey. It became important to me that I could help other teachers and other students outside of my classroom! On this TPT journey, I began creating materials for primary students.

This is where my passion for creating standards-based materials began. I’ve been making standards-based resources for math and ELA since 2014 and it has grown over 5 grade levels. I study each standard in Common Core and I break down each standard into lesson plans and activities for teachers and students to master!
