This Mother’s Day activity includes a reading flip book. It focuses on learning all about Mother’s Day with a nonfiction reading passage and three follow up activities. This is perfect for learning about the holiday while having interactive fun, practicing comprehension, and Mother’s Day writing.
*There is now a digital component included in this resource. The digital flip book is now available in Google Slides format. The link to the Google Classroom document will be within the PDF download.*
I added a version to the end for anyone who needs the word mum instead of mom. Do not print the entire pack. Follow the printing instructions pages for the exact pages you need.
Mother’s Day Activities Included:
Let’s Read page: Mother’s Day paragraph plus a writing paragraph about their own Mother
Let’s Answer page: Questions about passage
Let’s Draw: Students draw a picture of their mom and then write about activities they do with her
Let’s Write: Students answer six questions about their moms for Mother’s Day
This product helps teach students about Mother’s Day. The passage gives facts and information about what Mother’s Day is, and then has pages for students to write about their own mothers to give their mom for Mother’s Day. There is also two options for book toppers: a cute mother or image of child and mother (boy and girl option)!
*Suggestion reading level: For 2nd grade, I would use this as a partner or independent activity. For 1st grade, I would use this as a whole group activity or read the text together before they work through the rest of the flip book.*
