Description
This Native Americans Unit is a unit filled with vocabulary, history, social studies, reading, and writing activities. This unit will teach your students about different Native American tribes, regions, tools, early homes, and traditions.
*This resource now has a digital component. Most of these social studies pages are now created in Google Slides. (The interactive notebook pieces and a few of the dice/spinner math activities are not in Google Slides format.)
Start the unit with two sheets on prior knowledge. These will activate their schema and what they’re wanting to learn during this unit. Then, you can choose to use the vocabulary cards at the beginning of the unit or throughout the unit when you get to tricky words. Then, throughout the unit, you’ll find passages, a mini book, writing activities, research activities, math and ELA sheets, two foldable books, and a matching game.
I recently added new reading passages and activities. These are about how Native Americans live today. Additionally, it covers misconceptions that children may have.
