September Activities for Kids & September Lesson Plan Ideas

I’m so excited to bring you September ideas, activities, and freebies for the entire month! This will be a little showcase of all the products I LOVE using in a primary classroom during the month of September. You’ll see all things apples, community helpers, fall, and more! They will span ELA, Writing, Math, Social Studies, and Science! Plus, there are freebies included in this primary September resources showcase, too!!

ELA September Activities

  • This product comes with five paired sets, which are ten passages. Each set comes with a nonfiction story and a fiction story, plus questions and comprehension work for both. There are also two sheets that work on comparing fiction and nonfiction stories. This packet is for August and September themes!
  • My fall close reading pack comes with 14 weeks of fall Close Reading. Each week has four days of activities. There is a mini introduction to Close Reading at the beginning of the product, plus three general graphic organizers in case you want to supplement Asking Questions, Main Idea/Detail, and Fact-Finding.
Fall Themed Readers Theater Scripts and Partner Plays
  • My Fall Readers Theater product includes 12 stories for Reader’s Theater. Reader’s Theater is a wonderful way for students to practice fluency and expression. It is always a great team-building activity for partners or groups of three!

Try Differentiated Reading September Activities

  • There are ten fall topics in my differentiated fall passages pack. The ten fall topics are fall season, football, scarecrows, apples, leaves, community helpers, fire safety, pumpkins, bats, and turkeys!
  • My fall leveled reader mini books come with three levels of reading for kindergarten, first, or second grade readers. Each leveled reader has questions for that book that are also leveled.
